Specialist Care

Each of our residents has differing needs, some more complex than others.

It may be that your diagnosis, e.g. Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease or Huntington's Disease, requires more specialist care, and we want to be able to deliver that care to the best of our ability. As such we invite all of our potential residents to undergo a pre-admission assessment which enables us to decide on the best course of action to manage your care needs.

Palliative Care

The Gold Standards Framework in Palliative CareMany of our homes also provide Palliative care and several of our homes have achieved or are working towards the Gold Standard Framework in Palliative Care. Those homes that have are part of the Gold Standards Framework will display the Gold Standards Framework logo on their care home details page

You can read more about the Gold Standard Framework here.

Dementia Care

We have two care homes which have been specially designed and built for those people living with dementia, as well as a specialist dementia care unit at Kingfishers in New Milton. At both The Aldbury and Fernhill, the use of design principles proven to engage those living with dementia are evident. These homes are divided into four house groups which use orientation clues such as contrasting colours for doors and walls so that each resident can find their way around the home with ease. Each home also provides additional staff both for caring and social activities and all staff participate in a dementia care training programme.
