Care type

The highest standards of care

Whilst all our homes have a unique location, style and feel; you can expect the same high standards of care in each. Most of our homes provide residential and nursing care, four provide dedicated dementia care and two offer residential and nursing care alongside a separate dementia care suite. Each provides short-stay options, depending on availability. We have the resources and experience to help you find a home best suited to your needs.

Residential care

Our friendly residential care is a non-nurse led service, enabling you to live as independently as possible. We attend to your individual wishes so you can focus on enjoyment without worrying about issues that can become difficult in later life.

Short stay & respite

The same care enjoyed by our long-term residents is also available as a short-term option. For example, you may want the chance to relax and recuperate after a hospital stay or you or your carer may simply want a break from the daily routine.

A holistic approach to care

'Care' in a Colten home includes many other integral services alongside that provided by the nurses and healthcare assistants. Our chefs, waiting staff, maintenance teams, gardeners and the rest of our workforce are all supported by professional central teams. They provide additional expertise and resource to underpin each home’s community of care. Specialist roles don’t tend to present themselves to residents individually. Instead, they complement each other every day to influence the overall standard of care a person receives.

Activities and Colten Companions

Recognising the individual in you, we ask what interests and hobbies you enjoy. Our extensive activities programme, run over seven days, is designed to involve all our residents to the level they want. Activities include those that are more active as well as people to provide one-to one companionship in your own room
