Home Manager - Denise Smyth Denise trained at Kings College Hospital London in 1975. Her career has been acute Medicine and Elderly Care. Prior to working for Colten Care, Denise spent 12 years at Southampton General Hospital as Ward/Manager. After joining Colten Care in February 2001 as a Day Sister, Denise was promoted to Home Manager in November 2001 and has achieved the Registered Manager’s Award.

Deputy / Head of Care - Dee Lovewell
Dee joined Colten Care in February 2003 as a registered nurse. Dee received her initial nursing training in South Africa, obtained her mentorship preparation qualification in the UK, and completed an Elderly Care course at Bournemouth University. Dee was a finalist in Nurse of the Year – Care Times Awards in 2004. She became Deputy Matron in August 2006 when she joined the Abbotts Barton team.
Receptionist - Deborah Benham
Deborah was first employed at Abbotts Barton as Part time Receptionist. Previously Deborah worked for a number of years at Winchester City Council as a Computer operator before leaving to have her son. Deborah became full time Receptionist in February 2008 and enjoys supporting Matron with her administrative duties.
Activity Organiser - Janet Orchard Janet joined Colten Care in 2002 she delights the residents with the very varied Activity Programme at Abbotts Barton. Nothing is too much trouble and her kindness, hard work and empathy has made her an invaluable team member.
Chef - Lorraine Edney Lorraine attended Cricklade Catering College in Andover where she gained her catering qualifications. Lorraine has worked in various catering establishments including eight years at the Sergeants’ Mess at Worthy Down. Lorraine joined Colten Care in February 2001 as Chef for the opening of Abbotts Barton Care Home, a position she holds to this day.
