Home Manager - Karen Maidment Karen has worked at Colten Care for over 10 years, starting initially as a night sister. She trained at Southampton General Hospital and worked as a practice nurse before moving to care of the elderly 25 years ago. Karen has undertaken a number of post-registration courses since joining Colten Care, finally achieving the Foundation Degree in Care Home Management. Karen is married with 4 children.

Deputy / Head of Care - Sara Drayton
Sara trained as Registered Nurse in north Hertfordshire specialising in orthopaedics. She became a midwife and specialised for eleven years before moving to Bournemouth in 1995 to become a clinical leader at the Royal Bournemouth hospital. In 2002 Sara worked in medical insurance before moving into care of the elderly where she joined Colten Care in 2009. Sara lives locally with her husband Bill.
Receptionist - Jackie Rolph Jackie spent 9 years as legal secretary and 3 as an opticians’ secretary. She then pursued a career in are, working with both children and the elderly. Jackie has been with Colten Care since Belmore Lodge opened in 2003, and has 4 children.
Activity Organiser - Bernadette Smith Bernadette joined Colten Car in 2005, having previously worked as an Activities Organiser for BUPA. Bernadette holds a qualification the NVQ Level 2 in care and has completed a course in emergency first aid. She is married with four children.
Chef - Paul Sharpe Paul gained his City & Guilds Catering qualifications 706/1 & 2 with Credit, at Highbury Technical College between 1974 -77, and a College Diploma to Professional Catering Grade 1. This led him to nine years of his career catering for Dorset Police Force as Unit Manager; he was then promoted in the last three years of the contract to Group Manager overseeing 11 staff in 4 units. He joined Colten Care in may 2006.
Chef - Paul Bale
Paul joined Colten Care in 2004 having worked in various restaurants and hotels in the Bournemouth and Poole area. He began by working as a kitchen domestic at Canford Chase. Paul showed a real interest in cooking by helping the chef whenever possible. In 2006 he began his chef training both internally in other Colten homes and externally at Bournemouth and Poole Catering College. He completed his training in 2009 when he gained his NVQ level 2&3 in Hospitality Catering. With the opening of Colten Care’s newest home a vacancy arose for Paul to take on the role as chef at Belmore Lodge.
