Staff join residents in raising money for Children in Need
November 18, 2011
PUDSEY fever swept Colten Care’s 18 quality care and dementia homes across Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire.
Big-hearted staff and residents took part in a range of activities to raise money for the BBC’s annual Children in Need appeal.
Pyjamas and cuddly toys were the order of the day at Colten Care’s Fernhill home in Longham.

Manager Debbie Powell said staff had each donated money for the privilege of wearing their nightwear and bringing in their favourite soft toy. Several residents also joined in.

“It’s a bit of fun as well as raising money for a worthy cause,” she said.
Colten Care’s Amberwood House in Ferndown laid on a special cup cake sale with staff – and residents – also encouraged to wear silly hats.

Karen Burdon, Activity Co-ordinator, said: “All our homes are holding events to mark Children in Need.
“Our people always enter into the spirit of the occasion and this year is no different.”
