Care home residents enjoy Salvation Army performance
January 11, 2012
RESIDENTS at a Lymington care home got in the festive spirit when five Salvation Army players gave a special concert.
The quintet played a selection of carols and seasonal favourites for residents at Colten Care’s Monmouth House in St Thomas Street.
Among their audience was the home’s longest serving resident, Joan Stephens, who celebrates her 100th birthday in 2012.
The Salvation Army was selected as Monmouth House’s 2011 charity after residents voted for their favourite good cause. The home has held a number of events throughout the year to raise funds including a raffle.
Chris Dimmick, Manager, said: “Our residents really enjoyed the concert as well as meeting and chatting to the players afterwards.”
The Salvation Army players came from Ringwood and Lymington.
Colten Care runs 18 quality care homes in Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire including three in Lymington (Belmore Lodge, Court Lodge and Monmouth House).
The family owned company was founded in 1989 and is based in Lymington.
