Newstone House is our residents’ home. We’re privileged to maintain an environment where independence and dignity thrive. The home is split into six distinct house groups, with a dedicated facility on the first floor for people living with dementia. Furnished to an impeccably high standard and with first-class facilities, living spaces and gardens, Newstone House is a home from home to be proud of.

Ideal Location
Newstone House is situated on the site of the former creamery in the Dorset market town of Sturminster Newton. In the heart of the Blackmore Vale, the home is conveniently close to local shops, the community centre, churches and the doctor’s surgery.
Stimulating Gardens
Our beautiful garden has many spaces for our residents to enjoy all year round. From raised beds to the soothing sound of water, there is something for everyone.
Themed Areas
We use familiar objects, music, or other sensory stimuli, so our residents with dementia can be stimulated to recall memories and facilitate conversations. These areas help improve mood, promote familiarity and connectedness, and enhance overall quality of life.
WELCOMING RECEPTION
The hub of our community, always busy with conversation, laughter and the comings and goings of a vibrant home. Warm and welcoming, with comfortable seating and friendly staff ready to assist residents and visitors.
MANAGER’S OFFICE
When our Home Manager is not out on the floor talking to residents and supporting the staff team, they can be found in their office doing what it takes to run a happy, safe and secure home.
NURSES STATION
We provide the reassurance of Registered Nursing on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Each floor of our home has a Nurses Station for convenience.
PROFESSIONAL KITCHEN
We have a state-of-the-art professional kitchen at Newstone House, where our Chef and the catering team work together to serve wholesome, well-balanced meals to delight our residents.
ELEGANT DINING ROOM
Savour delicious meals in a spacious setting that can comfortably seat all residents for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Make lasting memories over a meal surrounded by sophisticated style.
COSY SITTING ROOM
Unwind in a cosy, inviting atmosphere and catch up with loved ones, delve into a good book, or simply relax in peace. Experience the perfect balance of socialising and solitude in a warm and welcoming space.
Richmond Retreat
The Richmond Retreat is a sensory based room that promotes well-being and relaxation for our residents living with dementia. The room includes mood lighting, pictures of waterfalls and plants, comfortable seating, bird music, and a large-scale, wallpaper photo of Sturminster Newton Mill.
LUXURIOUS SALON
One of our most popular facilities is the Hair Salon, which residents can use as they wish to make themselves feel special. Appointments can be booked at Reception for an additional charge.
Adapted Minibus
We have access to a modern, well-equipped minibus with a professional driver. They liaise with residents to understand their preferences and provide access through half-day or full-day trips.
YOUR GARDEN
At Newstone House, we understand the importance of continuing residents’ passion for gardening. Our beautiful garden, complete with raised beds, water features, two balconies, and two courtyards filled with trees and plants, along with a large potting shed hosting year-round gardening clubs, provides an accessible and stimulating outdoor living space for our residents to enjoy all year round.
