Avon Reach is situated in the heart of
Mudeford in Dorset. It is within walking distance of the famous Mudeford
Quay with its seafaring history. The home is also within easy access of
the New Forest. Shops and theatres are also easily accessible. This
purpose built home has en-suite accommodation for fifty six residents.

Home Manager - Kim Cowell
Since leaving Southampton University Hospitals in 1984 as a registered nurse Kim has held managerial roles in specializing of elderly and dementia care. Kim ran her own business in hospitality and catering both in England and Switzerland. She has four children with who she shares a passion for music and the arts. Kim is currently involved with the implementation of the Gold Standards Framework for palliative care at Avon Reach and is working towards becoming an associated member of my home life a national project to improve the quality of care homes. In her spare time Kim enjoys gardening.

Receptionist/Administrator - Christine Hurrell

Christine worked with Autistic children for six years at Portfield School and then emigrated to Canada where she held the post of Child Care Counsellor. Since returning to the UK, Christine was employed by Lloyds TSB Private Banking for seven years and joined Avon Reach as Part time receptionist.

Activities Organiser - Judith Eaton
Judith has been with Colten Care for many years working in various
departments. Previously Judith ran her own business in the Hotel
industry. She enjoys working with people, and is really enjoying her
role as Activity Organiser.

Activities Organiser - Jo Egan

Jo has been working for Colten Care since October 2011. She gained a B.A. in performing Arts in 2009, at Bournemouth and Winchester University. She has performed as a singer, musician, comedian and actress, and is utilizing her skills within her new role as Activities Organiser. Jo enjoys her spare time with her two children.

Chef - Tim Wallace-Abbott
Tim enrolled at Salisbury Technical College where he gained the 706/1/2
City & Guilds, the Gueridon Services and the Advanced Catering
certificates. He joined Colten Care in 1998 as chef at Avon Reach and
was promoted to Head chef in 1999. Tim has passed his Advanced Diploma
in Pastry which has helped him to provide a delicious variety of cakes
for all the residents at Avon Reach. Tim encourages the residents to
attend the various themed Gala Nights at the Home where he excels and
thrives in providing a more exotic menu.

Chef - Izabel Turczy

Having studied Tourism and Hotel Services for two years in Poland. I moved to England to gain work in a catering environment. I began my employment with Colten Care in August 2005 as a kitchen assistant latterly promoted to kitchen supervisor. I was then offered the opportunity by Colten Care to train as a Chef. In 2010 I completed my NVQ level 2 in professional cookery, where I achieved the award for best part time student NVQ level 2 of that year. In September 2010 I began studying NVQ level 3 first year. I currently am Chef at Avon Reach and really enjoy the work.
