Colten Care home on song with charity dinner
December 12, 2011
POOLE and Parkstone Singers were in fine voice as Colten Care’s Canford Chase Nursing Home held a gala dinner in aid of the Youth Cancer Trust.
The popular choir sang Christmas medleys for an audience of more than 50 residents, friends and relatives.
Over £400 was raised through ticket sales and a raffle for the Bournemouth-based trust, one of several charities supported by the home in Branksome Park, Poole.
Manager and matron Angie Stewart said: “It was a fabulous evening that took our fundraising total for the Youth Cancer Trust to £1,700 over the past year.
“The residents and staff are thrilled to support such a worthy cause.”
The trust provides support and holidays for young people across the UK suffering with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Colten Care runs 18 quality care homes in Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire.
The family owned company was founded in 1989 and employs 1,300 people.
