Newstone House offers a variety of care options for residents requiring residential, nursing and dementia care.

Home Details:

The Home comprises six house groups over three floors. In each house group there are en-suite bedrooms, a bathroom with specialised bathing facilities, a comfortable furnished sitting area where residents can relax and chat with family and friends, a kitchenette and dining area, and each house group has a dedicated care staff team.

On the ground floor there is a coffee bar, lounge and dining room with patio doors leading out to the garden. The ground floor also accommodates the hairdressing salon, suntherapy room and a cinema.

The first floor has been designed to support residents with dementia. Specialist features have been integrated to assist residents with memory loss to orientate themselves, whilst enabling them to retain their independence in a secure and welcoming environment. Many bedrooms overlook our gardens or the surrounding countryside. There is also a potting shed with a secure roof terrace and a quiet lounge on this floor.

On the second floor there are five spacious en-suite bedrooms with a communal lounge, kitchenette and dining room. There is also a complimentary guest suite for relatives and friends.

  • Home Manager - Rodelyn Secong

    Rodelyn Secong Home Manager Newstone House

    Rodelyn joined Colten Care in 2001 commencing at Abbey View Care Home in Sherborne. She was promoted from Day Sister to Deputy Matron and later transfered to Whitecliffe House as Home Manager in 2011. Educated in the Philippines, Rodelyn worked at Singleton Hospital NHS trust in Swansea, where she completed an adaptation course enabling her to practice as registered nurse in the UK. Whilst working at Abbey View, Rodelyn undertook a Mentorship Preparation Course at Bournemouth University, she also qualified as a NVQ assessor.

  • Deputy / Head Of Care - James Galyer

    James Galyer

    James joined Colten Care in 2008 as Head of Care at Woodpeckers in Brockenhurst. Having worked at several Colten Care homes James is the commissioning Head of Care for all new homes. James previously worked in the independent care home sector since 2000 as a Senior Clinical Nurse and laterally as a Home Manager. He trained as a nurse at the Lewisham group of hospitals in London and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Middlesex. He qualified as a specialist elderly care nurse in 2007

  • Receptionist - Marie Gawler

    Marie Gawler Receptionist/AdministratorMarie has 20 years experience working as a legal secretary, during the last 5 years she has specialised in elderly client matters. Marie enjoys spending her spare time with her family

  • Receptionist - Emma Gale

    Emma Gale Receptionist/Administrator NS

    Emma, orginally from Abbey View in Sherborne joined Colten Care in 2007 working part-time whilst studying at Bournemouth University. She is now a  full time Receptionist/Administrator and is very pleased to join the team at Newstone House. Emma has a degree in Graphic Design and in her free time she enjoys skiing. 

     

  • Activity Organiser - Leah Way

    Leah Way AO NSAfter working as a volunteer for four years, Leah worked in the care sector for 10 years as a support worker at the Forum School. She has embraced her new role at Newstone House with tremendous enthusiasm, forging links with the outside community and creating an Activity programme which is very much person centred.  Leah is looking forward to her ‘Activity Journey’ with Colten Care”. She is married and lives locally.

  • Commissioning Chef - Gary Parsons

    Gary Parsons

    In 1979 Gary joined The Army School of Catering in Aldershot to gain his Catering Certifications. He is well travelled, serving in Germany, Belize, Kenya, Mexico, Guatemala and Saudi Arabia. He was of Head Chef for the Lady's Officers Mess Aldershot and as part of a team has cooked for the Queen on two separate occasions. Gary joined Colten Care in 1997 and has commissioned eight of Colten Care's additional Homes.

  • Chef - Donna Singleton

    Donna Singleton Chef Newston House

    Donna began her catering career as trainee chef at the Summer Lodge Country House Hotel. She moved on to the Woodland Park Hotel in Cobham where she gained her 706/1/2 and completed her training as a chef. Donna moved to America to gain more experience in the catering trade, after 2 years in America Donna decided to return to England. She was offered a position of chef at Greenway Hotel near Cheltenham Donna also spent some time employed in contract cathering. Donna spent the last 5 years managing her own public house before joining Colten Care as chef at Newstone House.
