Every aspect has been considered in order to enhance the quality of life here at The Aldbury, from the cosy little alcoves and pretty courtyards to the homely communal lounge-dining rooms and level landscaped garden.

  • Home Manager - Rosemarie Kuah

    Rosemarie KuahRosemarie Kuah has been with the Aldbury since its inception in September 20043, initially as head of care, and in her current role since May 2007. Rosemarie trained as a registered general nurse in Poole Hospital, and at St Anne’s in mental health nursing. Her speciality is with care of the elderly, and more specifically in dementia care since the early 90’s. She has a BSC (Hons) OU in Health and Psychology, and obtained her Foundation Degree in Care Home Management from Bournemouth University in 2005. Rosemarie is enjoying working towards the MSc programme in dementia care with Bradford University. Outside work, she enjoys the company of her daughter and two dogs, in additional to country and western music, books and people.

  • Deputy/Head of Care – Denise Arthur - Briskham

    Denise Arthur - Brisham Head of Care The AldburyDenise trained as an RMN at St. Lawrences hospital in Cornwall. She previously worked for the NHS for 26 years and specialised in elderly care with dementia for over 20 years. Denise is passionate about person centred care, privacy and dignity. Denise is very dedicated to caring for everyone as an individual. Denise is married and has teenage twin boys, a grown up daughter and grand-daughter. She enjoys meditation and has been on a spirtual journey for the past few years. Denise also enjoys making jewellery, gardening.
  • Receptionist - Mandy Spiers

    Mandy SpiersMandy has worked as receptionist at the Aldbury since 2003. A job-share was created for Mandy after giving birth to her daughter, and this has enabled her to continue supporting Matron with her administrative duties and assisting relatives and visitors with their enquiries.

  • Receptionist - Simona Boboc

    Simona Boboc Receptionist/Administrator The AldburySimona joins The Aldbury with a wealth of experience in administration. Simona previously worked in the Hotel Industry as a Deputy General Manager and holds a batchelor degree in public administration. Simona enjoys making a positive difference to the resident's lives by contributing to their health, happiness and well being. Simona lives locally with her husband she enjoys spending her time walking, reading and playing/running after her daughter.
  • Activities Organiser - Linda Diffey

    Linda DiffeyLinda has extensive experience having worked in mental health for over 21 years. She is a qualified fitness instructor and sports therapist. Linda previously worked as a Physio Technician. During her spare time she enjoys rowing and walking her dogs.

  • Activities Organiser - Christopher Hiscock

    Christopher HiscockChristopher, having worked for Colten Care at Amberwood in Ferndown has always had a desire to care and improve the quality of life for people in their later years having worked as a voluntary leader in Burley. Christopher is enjoying bringing new and fresh ideas to the Aldbury. In his spare time he is a New Forest Commoner, with 14 cows. Christopher also enjoys collecting and driving rare cars.

  • Chef - Colin Hale

    Colin HaleColin attended Garrets Green Catering College Birmingham where he gained his City & Guilds 706/1 and 2. He has worked in some very prestigious Hotels in Birmingham where the highlight of his career to date was being part of a team catering for one of Princess Anne’s Charity Nights. Colin moved to Bournemouth and joined Colten Care as a Chef at Canford Chase in 1997. In 2003, Colin commissioned the kitchen at the Aldbury.

  • Chef - Lana Ryan

    Lana RyanLana has been with Colten Care since 1998. She joined The Aldbury in 2003 as a kitchen assistant and was promoted to kitchen supervisor; she qualified as chef in November 2007. Lana holds a NVQ2 in professional cooking. Lana adds the wow factor during anniversaries with her cake decorating skills which are greatly appreciated by both residents and visitors to The Aldbury. Lana also produces beautiful cross-stitch tapestry and is a dab hand at knitting.
