Degenerative Conditions

Colten Care provides a number of specialist services both in its general Care Homes with Nursing as well as in purpose designed specialist Homes.

The majority of the homes built, owned and managed by Colten Care are purpose designed. Rooms are larger than average, corridors and doorways are wide and they are truly fit for purpose. Because of these features and the highly trained and qualified staff, we can provide specialist care in our general Homes.

We cater for people with considerable physical disorders e.g. long term degenerative conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Huntington's Disease. A full range of specialist equipment is available to ensure residents with high physical needs can be cared for with comfort and dignity.

Palliative Care

We also provide a full palliative care service and work closely with local Hospices to ensure residents receive maximum support and symptom control during the sensitive stages of an illness. Relatives are not forgotten during these times and everything is done to ensure they receive a good level of support and understanding.

Dementia Care Services

We have an award winning purpose designed home for people with Alzheimer's and other dementias. The design is based on units of family size groupings. The Home has many special features which make it an ideal environment for people with dementia, from the flooring to the baths and showers, to the communal areas and the food.

This Home also had additional staff both for caring and for social activities. The nursing staff are knowledgeable and passionate about their subject and meet the needs of the residents and their families with compassion and understanding.
