All Aboard the Love Bus: A Scenic Outing to Remember
Residents from Abbey View embarked on a minibus trip to the stunning Bullbarrow Hill, with a Valentine’s-themed twist.
Bulbarrow Hill was chosen for its breath-taking views across the Blackmore Vale and its unique position overlooking four counties — Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, and Devon. This picturesque spot, nestled in the heart of Thomas Hardy country, was the perfect setting for a day of fresh air, music, and delicious food.
The journey itself was filled with joy and surprises. Unbeknownst to them, residents were greeted with a beautifully decorated minibus – to add a touch of Valentine’s Day spirit. Accompanied by ever-enthusiastic Driver Nick and Companion Bev, the group set off.
Upon arrival, residents enjoyed a lovingly prepared picnic lunch, featuring heart-shaped scones made the previous day during a baking activity led by Companion Sara and Resident Alan Davis.
Served with clotted cream and jam, the homemade treats were a particular highlight and compliments to the Chef, Sara, and Alan came in abundance.
The day was further enhanced by the sounds of classic romance. Nick delighted residents Sheila and Wendy by dancing with them to Nat King Cole’s Unforgettable, while the group sang along to crooners and show tunes, including favourites from Oklahoma.
With such glowing feedback from residents, the team is looking forward to organising more scenic adventures in the future!
