Egg-cellent Easter joy and jiving at Abbey View

20 April 2025

Residents at Abbey View Care Home in Sherborne were treated to a joyful and music-filled Easter Sunday as staff marked the occasion with a celebration full of fun, laughter, and chocolate.

Each resident received beautifully packaged Colten Care Easter eggs, hand-delivered by members of the care team.

Ken Worden and David Froud were among those who particularly enjoyed getting involved, spending time chatting and laughing with the team.

The atmosphere lifted even further when Senior Care Lead Jaz Manning put on Glen Miller – a firm favourite of resident John Henley – sparking an impromptu dance.

“I think you are whacky! It was peaceful here before she came in!” John was heard to tease Jaz. “But please stay! You have just made an old man very happy.”

The celebration was one of many lively moments over the Easter weekend at Abbey View, where residents and staff enjoyed spending time together and taking part in a range of activities throughout the home.

“It’s these everyday moments of connection that bring so much joy to everyone here,” said Companionship Team Leader, Bev de Bruyn. “We’re very lucky to have such a warm and vibrant community.”
