A Scottish Afternoon at Abbey View

Residents enjoyed a lively Scottish-themed afternoon, combining poetry and Highland games.
HCA Amanda, a proud Scot, read poems from Scotland’s Bard, including Auld Lang Syne and My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose, which residents listened to with interest and delight.
After a break for tea and shortbread, everyone took part in traditional Highland games, including caber tossing, haggis throwing, stag hoopla, and axe throwing. Pam enjoyed haggis throwing with her son’s help, while Janet tried each activity and couldn’t pick a favourite. The afternoon offered residents a chance to explore Scottish culture, enjoy gentle competition, and spend time together in a relaxed, engaging way.
