Eco Printing Fun

Joan, our gardener, amazed us again with another fantastic garden-based craft. 

Using flowers and foliage from our garden we made lovely patterns on alum soaked cotton and card. We let our creative juices flow and hoped that our chosen flowers would leave beautiful imprints on the fabric.  Joan then topped the design with another piece of fabric and rolled it up and tied it. She then steamed the fabric rolls for a couple of hours at home and left them to mellow in the garden.

The next step was to unroll our creations and see what the results were. We were so pleased to see the flowers and leaves we chose so carefully printed on the fabric and card, some bold and some just outlines. It was an amazing process to follow, and we all loved the results. Thank you Joan for another crafting delight!
