Armistice Day

P1000684 (2) (002)

Today is Armistice Day and at Abbotts Barton we held a short service of Remembrance. Residents gathered together and started with a hymn, “Oh God, our help in ages past” This was followed with Michael reading a piece about The Unknown Warrior. Then a prayer, the famous In Flanders Field Poem was then read. The Last Post was then played followed by a two minutes silence and time for reflection. John Arber kindly placed our Poppy Wreath into our garden of remembrance. The service was concluded with a very short prayer “For The Fallen” It was a very emotional time.
