Alpaca Adventures

Today our residents were treated to a visit from two alpacas, Liquorice and Caramac.

The pair are 4 years old and well used to petting and a good neck rub. Wendy, their owner and handler, was able to supply lots of information about their rearing and their habits and cast aside the unfounded rumour that the alpacas would spit at us.

The alpacas were happy to enter the lift and visit some of the bedrooms meeting those residents who had been unable to get to the lounge. Carole said: “That was wonderful and something I’ve never seen before. Certainly one to cross of my bucket list!”

Pauline couldn’t believe how patient they were and said: “They have such beautiful faces. You can’t help but smile.”
