An apple a day!

Our gardener, Collette and volunteer Liz Smith, organised a talk about heritage apples by expert Chris Bird from Sparsholt College.

Chris brought samples of apples with him for tasting and our Abbotts Barton chef baked a delicious apple pie which was served with tea. Everyone enjoyed the talk and there was a long question and answer session at the end. Some of the staff had also brought in some mystery varieties of apple that Chris was able to identify just by looking at the cut cross-section of the apple!
