Cat And Fiddle

Today we went on a drive through the New Forest and stopped at The Cat and Fiddle in Hinton Admiral for a delicious pub lunch.
All along the route we saw ponies – around 40 in total we think! One pony crossed the road about three times having a nibble of grass from each side of the road.
We saw about seven horses queuing outside a pub. We all thought it should have been the Nags Head, but it was the Queens Head. We also passed a Pub called the Empress of Blandings and commented on the unusual name.
Barry educated us by saying it’s named after the Fictional Pig in P.G Wodehouse’s Stories.
The Cat and Fiddle is a lovely thatched property, and we all had wonderful food and were made to feel very welcome.
Alan said “I think the menu was varied with a good selection of food, I definitely think we should come back here again soon”.
