Exploring Watercolour Landscapes

19 February 2026

Residents enjoyed a creative morning learning watercolour landscape techniques with John, husband of resident Joyce.

John demonstrated how simple brush strokes and a little tissue work could produce beautiful effects, showing how even minimal techniques could create expressive scenes.

Many residents, more familiar with acrylics, found watercolours a fun and different challenge. Laughter and encouragement filled the room as everyone experimented with the new medium. Alan joked, “Mine looks more like bacon and eggs, but I’m happy with it, and I’ve really enjoyed myself,” capturing the light-hearted and relaxed atmosphere.

It was a wonderful opportunity to try a new artistic style, share tips, and enjoy a morning of creativity together.
