Hawk Conservancy Trip

7 August 2024

We had a full day out at the fantastic Hawk Conservancy in Andover.

We arrived in time to watch the ‘Wings of Africa’ flying display, which featured white storks, vultures, Verreaux’s Eagle-Owls, and an African Fish-Eagle. We also witnessed the ‘dancing’ of the Secretary Bird.

We enjoyed lunch at the Feathers Restaurant, and then it was on to the second show, ‘Masters of the Sky,’ set against the beautiful wild meadow fields. This time, we saw an array of birds of prey from around the world, including vultures, eagles, falcons, and ten red kites, which flew over our heads!

Alan Hall commented, “What a spectacular day! Can we come back tomorrow? I really enjoyed seeing the wild birds flying above us, and we were lucky enough to have a photo taken with one of them.”
