Tastes of Summer: An Afternoon at Fair Oak

On another warm summer’s day, residents set off on a minibus trip to the Garden Society Café and garden centre in Fair Oak, just outside Southampton.

Upon arrival, we found a table near the cake cabinet — an irresistible view that had everyone’s attention from the start.

As menus were opened and choices considered, new resident Connie made a refreshing decision: a gin and tonic. Barry quickly followed suit, agreeing it was the perfect accompaniment — and, as it turned out, surprisingly well-matched with a slice of cake!

With plenty of laughter and conversation, it was a wonderfully social afternoon — filled with flavour, friendship, and easy summer charm.
