Winchester Cathedral Tour

An Afternoon at Winchester Cathedral
Residents recently visited Winchester Cathedral for a guided tour led by volunteer Pam Meir. The outing, arranged with the support of the Winchester Rotary Club, remains a popular fixture in the calendar, with residents spending the afternoon exploring the Cathedral’s architecture and history at a relaxed pace.
For Barry, who is not local to Winchester, it was a first visit. Stepping through the doors, he paused beneath the large stained-glass window before listening closely as Pam explained the detailed wooden carvings within the choir area. Reflecting afterwards, Barry said: “I never realised how large this Cathedral was until stepping in through the doors.”
