Bringing People Together for Music, Food and a Worthy Cause

4 August 2025

We recently opened our doors and gardens for a wonderful community event as part of The Big Lunch, an initiative focused on neighbourly connection and shared experiences.

The day was a celebration of togetherness, music and giving, bringing residents, families, friends, team members and local supporters together in the spirit of community.

Guests were treated to live performances in the garden by vintage vocal duo Jewel Harmonies, followed by a singalong with the ever-colourful Bee Chumley, dressed in her signature cherry-themed style.

There were delicious dishes on offer, from beef brisket chilli to a warming vegetable tagine, alongside an afternoon tea spread, craft stalls, tombola, and face painting for younger visitors.

In total, the day raised £638.70 for the Stable Family Home Trust, a Ringwood-based charity supporting people with learning disabilities. It’s a cause close to the hearts of many residents, including Ron Ellis, who shared:

“We had lots of fun with great music, great food and great weather. And it was a joy to meet new people from our local community and raise money for such a worthy cause.”

Home Manager Diane Nicholls added:

“It was a fabulous day with the chance to come together with others and have fun. We welcomed lots of new faces as well as old friends in what was a great example of community spirit.”

We’re proud to support local causes and bring our Ferndown community together through shared experiences like these.
