Residents Mark National Wildlife Day with Hands-On Animal Encounters

Residents at Amberwood House marked National Wildlife Day with a programme of activities designed to highlight the importance of wildlife conservation and protecting endangered species.
The day began with animal-themed word games to get everyone in the spirit of the occasion. In the afternoon, education group The Creature Teachers – led by Lisa and Jade – visited the home to introduce residents to a selection of unusual animals.

The special guests included Fifi the chuckwalla, Jasper the milk snake, Perci the giant rabbit, ferrets Dexter and Delilah, and Thistle the mottled owl. Residents had the chance to learn about each animal and handle them under supervision.

“The joy on our residents’ faces was priceless – Jim was especially enthusiastic and keen to hold every single one,” said Companionship Team Leader Maddee, who organised the event.
“It was a wonderful way to celebrate National Wildlife Day and learn more about the creatures we share our planet with.”
