Amberwood Celebrates World Happiness Day

Residents and staff at Amberwood House came together to mark World Happiness Day with a day of colour, music, and shared enjoyment.

Staff embraced the occasion by dressing in bright and playful outfits, from colourful leg warmers to tutus and patterned jackets. The vibrant display brought smiles to residents’ faces and set a light-hearted tone across the home.

The celebrations continued with a live performance from Nicola Young, who entertained residents with a selection of 1960s rock and roll favourites. Many joined in by singing along and clapping, creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere.

One of the highlights of the day came when resident Shirley encouraged Companion Team Leader Maddee onto the dance floor, prompting a joyful moment that drew laughter and applause from those watching.

Maddee reflected on the day: “It was lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves and joining in. Days like this bring people together in such a natural way, and there was a real sense of happiness across the home.”

The event formed part of Amberwood House’s wider programme of activities, designed to support wellbeing, encourage social connection, and bring moments of enjoyment into everyday life.
