A Journey Through the History of Photography

Claire’s Curiosity Cart visited Amberwood for an engaging afternoon exploring the fascinating history of cameras and photography.

Residents discovered how photography has changed over the years, looking at cameras including the Brownie and Polaroid alongside modern digital models. They also explored slides, negatives and light boxes, with each item prompting memories and conversation.

The familiar orange Kodak film canister proved a particular talking point, bringing back memories of taking rolls of film to the local shop and waiting for the photographs to be developed.

It was a fascinating afternoon of objects, stories and shared memories, offering plenty to discover about how we have captured life’s special moments over the years.
