Butterfly Garden

After all the building works, we want to start bringing the birds, butterflies, and bees back to our garden and have put together some ideas to bring them back.

Bees and butterflies are thirsty insects and throughout the summer they find it very hard to find watering spots, so todays project saw us create watering stations for our garden. We visited the garden centre and purchased large terracotta pots and saucers along with a selection of stones and glass rocks.

Our first job was to paint the terracotta pots and saucers and varnish them. Next, we laid the saucer on top of the overturned pot and placed the stones in the saucer. We filled the saucer with water and placed in the glass rocks. The glass rocks with act as stepping stones for the bees and butterflies to perch on so they can feed. All we have to do now is wait for our insects to return!
