Intergenerational Craft Session

Residents at Amberwood House enjoyed a special intergenerational craft session when Mandy from Ferndown Community Support visited with her granddaughter, Issy.

Alongside the creative activity, residents enjoyed chatting with Issy and learning more about her interests. Her reborn baby proved a particular talking point, with several residents fascinated by its remarkably realistic appearance and enjoying the chance to ask Issy about it.

Issy happily visited each resident during the session, helping everyone get involved. Conversations about school also prompted residents to share fond memories of their own younger years.

Some residents personalised their creations using Scrabble letters, adding names and initials. In a particularly lovely moment, Issy chose an “I” for herself and an “M” for Monica, explaining that she wanted to remember her name.

A lovely morning of creativity, conversation and connections between generations.
