Patio Bowls

As the beginning of July arrived, we couldn’t resist testing our new patio, and what better way than a game of bowls!

We positioned ourselves at each end of the patio, deliberating over which end would offer the best playing conditions. The sun shone brightly, although there was still a slight chill in the air. Nevertheless, since it was July, the sun emerged victorious.

We arranged our chairs and commenced the game. Strategies revolved around rolling straight, blocking opponents, or safeguarding the jack. Some even utilised the gentle downward slope of our patio to skilfully navigate their bowls. John emerged as the champion, winning most of the games, so we credited his success to the technique of rolling around and getting to know the patio.

Inge was a close second, with Marjorie and Margaret tying for third place. However, the true triumph was the opportunity to spend time in our new garden. The combination of sunshine, smiles, and engaging company created a delightful atmosphere that brought us great joy.
