World Smile Day

World Smile Day was created in 1999 by Harvey Ball, the artist who designed the famous yellow smiley face.

His idea was simple: “Do an act of kindness. Help one person smile.” Every year on the first Friday in October, people all around the world celebrate with small acts that spread happiness.

At Amberwood House, we celebrated with a silly smiley photoshoot with our lovely residents. There were lots of giggles – especially at our companions dressed up in funny costumes trying to coax out the biggest smiles! By the end of the Morning, everyone wanted to get involved and were asking for their own smiley photos.

It was a Morning full of laughter, joy, and plenty of reasons to smile.
