Avon Cliff Summer Fayre Raises More Than £500

Avon Cliff was filled with summer cheer as residents, families, friends and members of the local community came together for the home’s Summer Fayre.
The afternoon welcomed 38 guests, including the Mayor of Bournemouth, Roberto Rocca, who joined residents and visitors for the celebrations and enjoyed the lively atmosphere.

Representatives from Bournemouth Foodbank, the home’s Charity of the Year, were also there to meet guests and share more about the charity’s work.
Visitors enjoyed external stalls, charity stalls, garden games, homemade refreshments and live entertainment from Nigel Revill.
There was also a special new addition to this year’s entertainment, as Home Manager Theresa took to the stage with her Bulaklakan Dance Troupe, bringing a traditional taste of the Philippines to Avon Cliff. The colourful performance offered guests a chance to enjoy a different style of music and dance as part of the afternoon’s celebrations.

Another special moment came during the children’s colouring competition. After seeing the wonderful entries, residents found it impossible to choose between brothers Stanley and Teddy, who had worked so brilliantly together. The pair were therefore jointly named winners.
The event was also a fantastic fundraising success. Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, bought raffle tickets, donated and supported the stalls, more than £500 was raised for Bournemouth Foodbank.
Home Manager Theresa said: “It was wonderful to see so many people come together at Avon Cliff for our Summer Fayre. We loved welcoming our local community, including the Mayor of Bournemouth, into the home and gardens. It was particularly special to share a little taste of Filipino culture through the Bulaklakan Dance Troupe, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who supported us and helped raise such a fantastic amount for Bournemouth Foodbank.”
