Avon Cliff Residents Star in Halloween-Themed Play

Avon Cliff care home celebrated Halloween with a lively in-house production, as the Avon Cliff Players brought their creativity to life in a play titled Cauldron Cottage.
The group spent the week preparing, mapping out the storyline and crafting handmade props to set the scene. Resident Michael took the lead as narrator, introducing the audience to Cauldron Cottage, home to some of Bournemouth’s most powerful witches and warlocks — though, in true Halloween fashion, no one could remember who they were.

With the mischievous witch Dotte Cragglepot, played by Dotty, residents joined forces to revive their magical powers and create a potion destined to stir mischief across Bournemouth.
The play featured musical highlights including a lively rendition of Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo, a haunting take on Witchcraft, and concluded with a spirited dance-off to Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

Resident Diana said, “We always enjoy the stories that the Avon Cliff Players come up with, and we all take part which is so much fun.” Derek added, “I knew a little bit about Halloween but didn’t expect I would be able to take part in a whole play about it. I can even do a witch’s cackle — it was great!”
Companionship Team Leader Elise said, “It’s wonderful to see residents collaborating on creativity, storytelling, and performance. Activities like this bring energy and engagement to everyone in the home.”
