This week, our weekly Cooking Club focused on a timeless favourite — currant buns, chosen by Diana.

Residents gathered around the table to measure and prepare the ingredients, carefully spooning the mixture into cupcake cases.

As the buns baked, conversation flowed with reminiscences of favourite recipes from years gone by, highlighting the comforting role of food and tradition in everyday life. Once baked, the warm currant buns were enjoyed with a cup of tea, delighting everyone with their sweet aroma and classic flavour.

It was a simple yet satisfying afternoon, combining hands-on activity, shared memories, and the joy of creating and enjoying homemade treats together.
