Christmas Gala
For this year’s gala, the residents decided on an event inspired by one of their favourite big band conductors, Glenn Miller.
We transformed our home into a 1940’s dance hall with crepe paper chains and paper snowflakes, wore our best 1940’s outfits, and enjoyed a retro drinks reception serving classics such as port and lemon and snowballs.
We then indulged in a beautiful three-course meal and raised a glass of bubbly to toast the upcoming festive season.
In the afternoon, we settled down with a glass of Bailey’s to enjoy a vintage-inspired performance from an Andrew’s Sisters-style trio.
We sang along to classics such as “White Christmas” and “Frosty the Snowman” and even got to join in with jingling bells. A very merry time was had by all.
