German Apple Cake

Each week, our residents get together for Cooking Club and this week we decided to have a go at German apple cake – a pick from Heidi, who lived in Germany for most of her life.

Diana skinned and cored the apples, while Heidi and Julia mixed up the eggs, butter, flour and sugar.  Once the apples were skinned and cored, we cut them into chunks sprinkled with sugar, and added them into the cake mix, making sure all the apples were covered.

We then transferred the mixture into the tin and evened it out, then put it in the oven for 45 minutes.

Once the German apple cake was ready, we tasted a slice with some cream, and it was amazing! Another Cooking Club success.
