Songs in the garden

On this beautiful sunny day, our residents went to visit our sister home, Canford Chase.

We also met with residents from another of our Colten Care homes, Bourne View, to sing well-known songs together, such as Edelweiss, Catch a Falling Star, Tulips from Amsterdam, and many other popular tunes.

Residents from all three homes also performed a song they had composed during their musical classes with our talented Fiona. It was lovely to listen to them singing their own song. One of our residents, Michael, is very passionate about music and has been ever since he was a little boy. He still belongs to a choir.

He said, ‘It was lovely to have the opportunity to meet and sing together with other residents and make some new friends.’ Singing is particularly good as a calming therapy. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon, and we are all looking forward to another similar event in the future.
