Avon Reach Care Home Raises £2,000 with Charity Skydive for Mudeford All Saints Church

Two brave team members from Avon Reach Care Home in Mudeford have completed a charity skydive, raising an impressive £2,064 – and counting – for the restoration of Mudeford All Saints Church.
On a bright September morning, Home Manager Ruth and Companionship Team Leader Denise took to the skies at Old Sarum Airfield in Salisbury, cheered on by residents, staff, and supporters. Among them was resident Bruce, who thoroughly enjoyed watching the pair soar through the clouds and safely parachute back to earth.
Although both admitted to feeling nervous before the jump, the instructors at the airfield helped calm their nerves and made sure the experience was one to remember. As they descended, the pair were treated to an extraordinary sight – their shadows surrounded by circular rainbows in the clouds.

“It was absolutely incredible,” said Denise. “The nerves soon disappeared once we were up there. Seeing the view from above and knowing we were doing it for such a worthwhile cause made it even more special. We’re so grateful to everyone who has supported us.”
The daring duo enjoyed the challenge so much they’re already planning their next jump.
The fundraiser was organised in aid of Mudeford All Saints Church, which has been a cornerstone of the local community for generations. Funds raised will go towards essential restoration work to preserve the historic building for future generations.
Ruth, Denise and all at Avon Reach Care Home expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated and supported the cause.
