Avon Reach Welcomes Somerford School for Christmas Celebration

5 December 2025

Avon Reach Care Home welcomed 14 children from Somerford Primary School’s Council for a lively Christmas celebration filled with festive cheer. From the moment the children arrived, the home was alive with decorations, music, and excitement.

The day featured a range of seasonal activities, including Christmas music statues, pin the nose on the reindeer, and a playful Christmas pass-the-parcel game. Residents and staff joined in, creating an atmosphere of laughter and shared joy.

The home’s chefs prepared a spread of Christmas party favourites, with the homemade chocolate cake proving especially popular among the children.

A highlight of the afternoon was a surprise visit from Father Christmas, brought to life by resident Bruce in his festive red suit. Each child had the chance to share their Christmas wishes and receive a bag of festive treats, bringing smiles and delight to all.

Companionship Team Leader Denise commented, “It was wonderful to see residents and children enjoying the festivities together. Events like this really bring our community closer and make the season feel extra special.”

The day concluded with happy faces all around, and Avon Reach looks forward to welcoming the children back for their summer party next year.
