Avon Reach Hosts Community Summer Barbecue

Residents, families, staff and members of the local community gathered at Avon Reach to enjoy a sunny afternoon of great food, live entertainment and fundraising at the home’s annual Summer Barbecue.

Prepared by the home’s talented kitchen team, the barbecue offered a delicious selection of food, complemented by refreshments from the charity bar. With the sun shining, guests relaxed together in the garden, making the most of the warm weather and friendly atmosphere.

Live music from Nigel Revill provided the soundtrack to the afternoon, with residents and visitors singing along and taking to the dance floor. Another highlight was the popular raffle, where one lucky winner took home a wheelbarrow filled with prizes.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, the event raised an impressive £676.53 for Avon Reach’s chosen charity, supporting the rebuild of All Saints Church, Mudeford.

Resident Brenda said: “The afternoon and food were lovely. The atmosphere and music were excellent.”

Visitor John added: “Avon Reach and all that they do are simply amazing.”

Home Manager Ruth Wildman said: “It was wonderful to see so many people come together to support our local church. Great food, great entertainment and great company made for a fantastic community event, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make it such a success.”
