Cards for Charity

We have put our heads together to come up with ways to raise funds for our chosen charity this year.

As a creative bunch at Avon Reach, one of our ideas was to create greeting cards, which will be offered for a minimum donation of £1. All funds raised will go to Macmillan.

On Monday afternoon, we sat down in our sunny Café Lounge with a generous donation of card blanks, embellishments, ribbons, and beads, and got to work. Residents thought about the type of cards they would like to buy and send, and for whom their friends and family might choose cards. Resident Valerie was pleasantly surprised by how much she enjoyed matching her chosen picture to background layers and arranging additional embellishments.

To keep the creative inspiration topped up, we took a welcome tea break and made our first few cards, a couple of which have already sold!
