Fossil Finding
At the suggestion of resident Ann B, we had a delightful morning immersed in fascinating fossil facts!
Ann B brought a stunning Desert Rose specimen, while Audrey C proudly displayed her discoveries from Lincolnshire—a mesmerising ammonite and a beautiful shell fossil she found on the beach and in her garden, respectively. Ann U shared her collection of lucky stones, each one featuring a hole through them. It was a joy for everyone to admire the remarkable fossil finds.
We had an abundance of pictures and information about fossils, including details about our local Jurassic coast. The residents were captivated by the stories and knowledge shared. To make the experience even more engaging, we organised our very own Fossil Dig activity, where residents could excavate fossils themselves. Once fully unearthed, the fossils will be proudly displayed for all to admire.
It was a morning filled with wonder, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the ancient treasures that nature has bestowed upon us. The residents thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to learn, share, and connect with the remarkable world of fossils.
