Residents and staff from Court Lodge enjoyed a heartfelt trip to Boldre this week as Jack revisited the turkey farm once run by his family.

The farm, now managed by Jack’s son Paul, holds a deep personal significance for him, and the visit offered a unique opportunity to reflect on a lifetime of hard work and family legacy.

Upon arrival, Jack was visibly moved, taking in the familiar sights, sounds, and colours of the farm. “It felt like stepping back in time,” he said, greeting the turkeys as old friends. Residents and staff were welcomed warmly by Jack’s family, sharing stories, laughter, and a few emotional moments.

With over 4,000 turkeys on the farm, Jack enjoyed pointing out details about the birds and reflecting on how the farm has grown and thrived over the years.

Companionship Team Leader Julie said, “It was a privilege to see Jack reconnect with a place so important to him. Moments like this are what make our work so meaningful.”

Home Manager Rebecca added, “Visiting the farm was more than just a trip down memory lane—it was a celebration of family, hard work, and the connections we carry with us throughout life.”

The visit provided a joyful and reflective afternoon, demonstrating the impact of revisiting places filled with personal history and the enduring bonds of family and community.
