Festival vibe as Kingfishers care home holds summer fete in aid of two charities

16 July 2024

Our New Milton care home, Kingfishers, is staging a colourful, free-to-enter summer fete on Saturday 20 July in aid of two good causes.

Residents, staff and community friends will dress up for the festival-themed event to raise funds for both the New Forest Disability Information Service and the New Milton Men’s Shed.

They hope to beat the total achieved by the home’s ‘bohemian-style’ fete last year when more than £900 was collected for children’s hospice charity Julia’s House.

As well as viewing stalls selling crafts, games, jams, preserves and other gift items, visitors can enjoy live music performed by Poole-based singer and entertainer Steve Linn.

There will be a grand raffle with the chance to win ‘massive’ prizes including a new mountain bike.

Refreshments on offer include teas, Pimms and cakes home made by Kingfishers chefs.

The fete takes place at Kingfishers, The Meadows, New Milton, BH25 7FJ, from 11am to 4pm on Saturday 20 July 2024.
