Dori’s Wish

Dori expressed a wish recently to take a trip to the seaside with her daughter Christina and close friend Elizabeth.
She really wanted to feel the sun on her face, watch the chain ferry at Sandbanks, enjoy some fish and chips, and visit Christina’s garden.
Her wish came true this week as we took her, Christina, and Elizabeth on a minibus trip to Sandbanks.
The sun shone brightly as we sat together enjoying cool drinks and biscuits, watching the Bramble Bush Bay chain ferry cross the water. With a smile, Dori remarked, “How lovely and warm the sun is.”
Our next stop was Long John’s Fish and Chip Shop in Wimborne, and Dori’s eyes lit up. “Oh yummy, I love fish and chips!” she exclaimed. This visit was particularly special, as Dori and her husband Norman had once owned their own fish and chip shop, Smiths in Winton, for 15 years.
While they were ordering, the kind gentleman behind the counter overheard our conversation and was so touched that he came out to the minibus to greet Dori personally.
With lunch in hand, we made our way to Christina’s house. Sitting in the garden, surrounded by flowers and sunshine, Dori savoured her fish and chips alongside a perfect cup of tea — just as she had hoped. We finished the day with delicious cake and a gentle stroll around the garden.
A wonderful time with her daughter and dear friend Elizabeth – filled with love and everything for which she could have wished for.
