Oktoberfest at Canford Chase

Today at Canford Chase, we brought the spirit of Oktoberfest to the residents.

We hung blue and white decorations and played traditional music. We enjoyed an afternoon filled with delicious German food – Bratwurst sausages, potatoes, and sauerkraut cabbage were paired perfectly with a selection of authentic German beers – including crisp pilsners, smooth wheat beers, and refreshing lager.

The residents really enjoyed the food and drink pairings and loved the sounds of traditional polka and folk music. We chatted about the traditional clothes worn, and finished off the afternoon by watching the world-famous Munich event that spans over 16 days and attracts millions of visitors from around the world.

It was a day of cultural celebration, community spirit, and shared smiles — bringing a taste of Germany to Dorset in the most heart-warming way.
