VE Day Celebrations

Residents and families gathered on the lawns of Castle View to celebrate VE day. 

Dorchester’s Deputy Mayor, Janet Hewitt, was a guest of honour, alongside residents of Poundbury. 

We all enjoyed a fabulous tea party with sausage rolls, fine cut sandwiches, and a selection of pastries prepared by our chef, Beata.  Some of the team also dressed as land girls and served tasty treats from platters and jugs of Pimm’s – which went down a treat! 

We also sang war time favourites together and residents wrote their memories of VE Day on a postcard and placed them on a memory tree to share their experiences.
