A Garden Visit with St Joseph’s School

Residents at Bourne View recently welcomed children from St Joseph’s School for an afternoon spent in the garden. Guided by gardener Mike, the group explored the bee-friendly plants growing around the home and discussed the flowers chosen to attract pollinators throughout the seasons.
Residents and children worked together to build bee houses before taking part in a flower-matching activity, identifying blooms they could spot in the garden beds. As they explored, there was plenty of excitement over bees visiting the flowers, along with other insects and wildlife discovered among the plants.
Companions Preeti and Corinne joined in throughout the afternoon, as conversations and shared observations flowed naturally between generations.
