A Laughter-Filled New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve was marked with an afternoon of games designed to bring people together — and they certainly did.
One activity, led by Companion Corinne, involved eight numbered whistles, each representing a musical note, with residents taking turns to play their part. What followed was less of a concert and more an outbreak of laughter.
Rosemary, tasked with one particular note, found the pressure too much, setting off a fit of giggles that quickly spread around the room, conductor included. While Jingle Bells was quickly abandoned, the group eventually managed a recognisable tune. Later that evening, during a quieter reflective game, one question asked when residents had last laughed uncontrollably. Tessa’s answer came instantly: “This afternoon!”
